The 2004 Paul Robeson Awards

Established in 1990 by the Howard University Department of Radio, Television,
and Film, The Paul Robeson Award is its highest honor. It is given to
those who exemplify artistic excellence in motion pictures or broadcast
arts. The Award honors the memory of noted artist/activist Paul Robeson,
a champion of human rights (1898-1976). Previous winners include Spike
Lee, Harry Belafonte, Gordon Parks, and director Carl Franklin.
